The 12th edition of Interplast was a success for exhibitors in the event, especially Think Plastic Brazil, a portfolio of solutions for the converted plastics product sector in the internationalization process for target markets, carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and INP (Brazilian Plastic Institute).
The event, which took place in Joinville between August 13 and 16, brought together 400 exhibitors from eight different countries (Germany, Austria, Brazil, China, Dubai, Italy, Taiwan, and Uruguay), with 1000 brands and 32,000 visitors present in the four days of the fair. The expectation is that about R$400 million will be spent on business deals in the following 12 months.
Think Plastic Brazil received more than 85 companies at its booth during its participation in the 3rd Circular Economy Forum and in visits to the other exhibitors of the fair. In additional to networking, the portfolio met with companies that manufacture plastic products, such as prospects and associates, regional plastic unions, associations, service providers and suppliers of inputs to the industry. In addition, the IV World Plastic Connection Summit, which will take place between April 8 and 10, 2025, in São Paulo, and the Color Trend 2026 were announced.
Carlos Moreira, Executive Director of INP and of Think Plastic Brazil projects, also participated in the event as a speaker and talked about “At what point in the internationalization process do companies in the plastic sector invest more in innovation.” For Carlos, “the speech at Interplast highlights great opportunities for international growth and shows how we can support companies with unprecedented cost-benefit,” he says.
For Aleksander Richard de Assis, consultant and foreign trade specialist at Think Plastic Brazil, Think Plastic Brazil’s participation in the fair was very productive, as the portfolio had the opportunity to disseminate actions and benefits to new companies, reinforce what it promotes for members, and strengthen the presence and image of the program in the southern region of Brazil.
