Think Plastic Brazil, a portfolio of solutions for the plastic-converted products sector in the internationalization process for target markets, carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and INP (Brazilian Plastics Institute), has just signed an agreement with ASEPLAS (Ecuadorian Plastics Association).
The agreement aims to offer benefits to Think Plastic Brazil members who are suppliers of inputs for the manufacturing industry. With this, the portfolio will guarantee differentiated values for the participation of its member companies in IPLAS 2025, an event that takes place from September 9 to 12 in Guayaquil and is the most important in the sector in Ecuador, bringing together the main players in the region.
IPLAS had its first edition in 2001, initially aimed only at national exhibitors. After realizing the event’s potential, international suppliers were included in the third edition in 2003. Since then, the event has been held every two odd years, always in the city of Guayaquil, where 10 editions have already been held, says Adriana Lucas Toala, Executive Director of ASEPLAS. Currently, there are exhibitors from countries such as the USA, Brazil, China, Taiwan, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, France, England, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Italy and Ecuador.
For the next edition, in addition to its already consolidated commercial exhibition of machines, technology suppliers, raw materials, inputs, additives, equipment, laboratory tests, services and processes, the event organizers plan to incorporate new components, such as the Ecuadorian Plastic Offer, the Business Round and the 3rd Edition of the International Congress focused on Sustainable Plastics: Innovations and Challenges. The congress has gained prominence in recent editions, with the participation of speakers specialized in the industry and members of several research centers.

In addition to facilitated participation in the event, the partnership with ASEPLAS should promote the exchange of information on regulatory environments and local legislation, as well as good practices for the converted plastics sector to strengthen the industry in both countries.
“Ecuador is a country with a strong conversion sector that imports 100% of its raw materials. Therefore, the country is an excellent opportunity for companies that supply inputs for conversion and this strategic alliance with ASEPLAS will provide an exchange of good practices and important regulatory aspects for our sector”, says Carlos Moreira, Brazilian Plastic Institute Executive Director & Think Plastic Brazil CPO.
