Think Plastic Brazil, a portfolio of solutions for the plastic-converted products sector in the process of internationalization for target markets, carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and INP (Brazilian Plastics Institute), in partnership with Drummond Advisors, the event’s presenting sponsor, launched this Tuesday, April 8, during the IV World Plastic Connection Summit®, at Novotel Center Norte, in São Paulo, the “Plastics Sector Internationalization Guide”, a strategic publication that aims to support Brazilian companies in the converted plastics sector in their journey of entering and expanding into the international market.
The material provides an overview of the suitability of products and services in each market, taking into account not only local legislation, but also cultural elements that influence the supply of products and require adjustments. “With accessible language and a practical focus, the guide was structured to help companies plan actions, taking into account all aspects of the internationalization journey, whether operational, strategic or regulatory”, highlights Carlos Moreira, executive director of INP and Think Plastic Brazil CPO.
Developed in partnership with Drummond Advisors to help companies choose target markets, entry channels, product adaptations and necessary certifications, the guide brings together best practices to overcome common challenges of internationalization, seeking to achieve an activity that takes advantage of global opportunities safely and efficiently. Its authors are: Carlos Moreira, Aline Ribeiro, Fernando Borges, Leticia Mariz Schweizer, Maikon Luiz, Marco Lobo, Marcos Ferreira, Mariana Tavares Mendonça, Milton Gato and Roberta Salvador.
“A Brazilian company does not need to be outside the country to be successful, but several companies here have competitive potential. They establish themselves in the market through Drummond, but they need to get to know each other first before trying to establish themselves and become a global brand. It is incredibly joyful when each member becomes a global company, capable of competing and supplying anywhere in the world. The guide provides a strategic step-by-step guide, covering the entire necessary journey: trademark registration and the need to establish connections, how to act in accordance with market laws. It is like a recipe to help the plastics industry on this journey with research and statistics”, reinforced Marcelo Carrullo, Growth Director at Drummond Advisors.
A preview of the publication can be obtained by all audiences on the Internationalization Guide website. Non-member companies that wish to access the full guide in digital version must submit the signed and completed ApexBrasil Term. Member companies can access the full guide in online version. For all audiences, it is possible to purchase a physical version, upon payment of the printing fee of R$ 741.00 + shipping fee.
