Teixeira Têxtil’s Internationalization Project, associated with Think Plastic Brazil, conquers new markets

Think Plastic Brazil

Teixeira Têxtil wants to move the world with raffia packaging. The company, associated with Think Plastic Brazil, a portfolio of solutions for the plastic-converted products sector in the internationalization process for target markets, carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and INP (Brazilian Plastics Institute), aims to grow, double its volume, be the most remembered brand as a raffia manufacturer and be among the best companies to work for by 2027.

The company took a significant step in its path of innovation and growth by launching the Internationalization Project in June 2023. The initiative aims to expand and consolidate the brand’s presence in the international market, in addition to promoting and fostering the strength of Brazil’s Global Plastics Chain.

Dissemination of export culture

With a comprehensive diagnosis in partnership with the expertise of Ampliaz, a company specialized in internationalizing, disseminating and expanding the export culture, all sectors of the company were approached, and Teixeira Têxtil implemented a systemic development plan to promote change. This plan included the standardization of export procedures and the creation of work instructions, checklists and intensive training for staff development. In addition, new suppliers were integrated, such as international logistics operators, customs brokers, credit insurers and banks.

Market expansion plan

The focus of this plan is on opening and expanding international business, diversifying Teixeira Têxtil’s operations and mitigating the risks of national economic volatility. Essential activities include mapping customers, defining target countries, using market intelligence tools, attending international trade fairs and participating in global awards.

Teixeira’s bag can be used to transport seeds, flour, chemicals, pet food, construction products and, mainly, fertilizers. In Brazil alone, around 58 million kilos of raffia are used in the agricultural sector.

With an eye on innovation, Teixeira Reverse is the standout product, in which previously used bags are recovered and transformed into recycled resin, which then returns to the production line, combining sustainability and performance and reflecting the commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility.

Partnership with Think Plastic Brazil

Since the beginning of 2024, Teixeira Têxtil has been associated with the Think Plastic Brazil portfolio, which, in collaboration with ApexBrasil and INP (Brazilian Plastics Institute), promotes important initiatives to expand the Brazilian plastics chain. With the support of this project and its stakeholders, Teixeira Têxtil has been participating in prominent international fairs, such as Food Africa 2023 and Expo Pack in Mexico, in addition to other events already planned for this year and next. It is worth remembering that the company is benefiting from debates, lectures, specialized courses and market studies in the export process also provided by the program and it is these actions that have been further driving the company towards internationalization.

Being a Think Plastic Brazil member company has been crucial to the continued development of Teixeira’s international operations and its market expansion. In the second quarter, the company’s first direct export was made, and the results of this can be seen in all the work carried out so far.

Commitment to ESG principles

Teixeira Têxtil also stands out for its commitment to ESG (environmental, social and governance) principles. The company has developed a recycling process that transforms used big bags into high-purity PCR (post-consumer) polymer, equivalent to virgin raw material. This innovation not only promotes sustainability, but also strengthens the company’s competitiveness in the global market.

With these initiatives, Teixeira Têxtil not only reaffirms its commitment to excellence and innovation, but also projects Brazilian quality and sustainability onto the international market.
