Home During the coronavirus pandemic, many companies in the plastics industry need to continue to operate because of the essentiality of their products. Food packaging, hygiene and cleaning materials, protective parts and medical-hospital care are some of these examples. The moment is also one of valorization of industries that show solidarity in defense of life and protection of the Brazilian population. Check out some of these examples from the companies participating in Think Plastic Brazil, an export and internationalization program for Brazilian plastic processing companies, created by the National Plastic Institute (INP) in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Agency for Export and Investment Promotion).
Jaguar Plásticos
Jaguar Plásticos made a donation of packaging to UniFAJ (Jaguariúna University Center), to bottle the hand sanitizer produced at the institution, which was promptly distributed to hospitals, posts and health care units in the city of Jaguariúna (SP).

Bold
The company Bold, from Jaraguá do Sul, donated a thousand masks to hospitals, firemen and the city’s Health Department. These are small and large format face protection masks that were developed in partnership with doctors in the region. They are produced in PTG – resistant material that allows the hygienization with alcohol.
Sommaplast
Sommaplast donated, together with Zandei Plásticos, 5 thousand packages for hand sanitizer filling to the city hall of Itapecerica da Serra (SP) which will be distributed to the region’s service teams.
Grupo Copobrás
Grupo Copobrás, together with Innova and its clients who produce disposable items, is producing 25 million units in disposable polystyrene (PS) plates, cutlery and cups for free at hospitals. The initiative takes into account that the use of disposable items is a strong factor in combating the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). The polystyrene (PS) transformation companies contribute to the manufacturing of these items using the resin supplied free of charge by Innova. The logistics will ensure distribution to destinations from north to south of Brazil.
Grupo Astra
Grupo Astra donated hundreds of 8- and 12-liter buckets to the Amigos do Bem project. The material will be destined to communities in need in Pernambuco, where Astra has a manufacturing unit. The buckets will help these Brazilians to fetch and store water for drinking, cooking and hygiene.
Amigos do Bem is a very serious work, with countless educational and self-sustaining projects that today move the lives of over 75 thousand people in the states of Alagoas, Ceará and Pernambuco. The volunteers of the Amigos do Bem project work in several areas in order to promote an effective transformation in the lives of the thousands of people assisted.
