Think Plastic Brazil, portfolio of solutions for the plastic-converted products sector in the internationalization process for target markets, carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and INP (Brazilian Plastics Institute), was in Dubai to participate in the Big 5 Global fair with four member companies: Astra, Fame, MarGirius and Tigre.
The fair took place between November 26 and 29 and resulted in 96 meetings, with 92 new contacts made. Given the actions carried out, the expected business generated from the event for the associated companies present is US$ 750 thousand over the next 12 months.
“The fair brought us several contacts and a very important advantage of this location is that we received companies and potential clients from various regions of the world, not just the Middle East and North Africa”, says Edir Miranda Junior, Sales and Export Manager at Tigre.
For Danilo de Lima Medeiros Bustos, Commercial Manager at Astra, the fair was an opportunity to meet customers from countries where the company already exports, as well as to strengthen commercial relations with the Middle East and Africa markets. “This is our first time participating in the fair and we are very happy with the result. Today we have more than 40 possible and potential customers to complete the countries we export to,” says Danilo.
MarGirius also participated in the fair for the first time and made important contacts by presenting its products. “We brought our line of residential switches and our automation line as innovations to the fair,” says William Inácio Silva, Export Manager at MarGirius.
For Maria Prado, Fame’s Export Manager, the company’s second participation in Big 5 Global was very rewarding. “We had contact with 24 different countries, which is very interesting for us. I believe that of all the fairs we have participated in, this was the most cosmopolitan of all, with a very wide variety of countries,” she explains.
This was the portfolio’s first participation in the event with its own stand, after participating in the 2018 edition with a Trade Mission that brought 16 companies. “Big 5 Global is a strategic fair to showcase Brazilian products, directly contributing to one of the premises of Think Plastic Brazil, which is to diversify markets with effective actions in the Africa and Middle East region, a region with immense commercial potential for us,” says Carlos Moreira, Brazilian Plastic Institute Executive Director & Think Plastic Brazil CPO.
